DPF Cleaning & Unblocking

Blocked DPF.jpg

One of the most popular is our DPF clean. DPF cleaning can help to tackle a problem faced by increasing numbers of drivers of modern diesel vehicles, whereby the unit becomes clogged with soot or ash often as a result of another component not functioning as it should.

What Is A DPF?

Modern diesel vehicles are now fitted with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) as standard. The DPF works by trapping harmful diesel particulate matter or soot, which it then burns off during it's regneration cycle.  For this cycle to happen effectively, the vehicle must be run for a prolonged period of time at a constant speed, such as motorway driving.  When your vehicle is driven mostly on short/city journeys, diesel cars do not reach the required exhaust temperature to allow the regeneration process to take place.  If this continually happens and the regeneration is no longer sufficient to clear the blocked filter, motorists can face some very expensive repair cost!

I Keep Seeing This Light, What Now?

When your DPF warning light is illuminated, it has detected a problem.  The sooner you act the better, to prevent further clogging. Terraclean's patented EGR & DPF Induction System Cleaner, enables us to clean the DPF without the need to dismantle the engine or exhaust, saving you money on costly labour charges, or possible DPF replacement.

An intermittent light coming off and going off will usually require a clean at a cost of £275.00 DO NOT IGNORE as once your vehicle goes into limp mode this will effectively be blocked. We can clear blocked DPF's but it does require deeper cleaning at a cost of £425.00.

Can You Clear A Blocked DPF?

The simply answer is YES! TerraClean have designed a specific tool to do this. It works by connecting directly to the temperature sensor at the beginning of the DPF. We then inject a special formula that has been designed to breakdown soot that has built up in your DPF. Once all the formula has been injected into the DPF we leave this to soak before taking your vehicle for a short run.

Along with this, we then do a forced regen on your DPF, this is where it heats up to over 600 degrees Celsius to burn off the soot. After the regen, we then do the process all over again! This then leaves your DPF nice and clean, out of limp mode and free of soot!

What If It Doesn't Work?

We guarantee it will work, if it doesn't then we will not charge you! We have a 100% satisfactory cleaning record so far and we will not let a dirty DPF defeat us :)
