TerraClean EGR Cleaning

Nitrogen Oxide is created during combustion in an engine. This gas is partially recirculated from your car's exhaust gases back into the engines combustion chambers through the EGR valve. Due to its inert nature, Nitrogen Oxide can absorb some of the other, more dangerous, emissions from the combustion process. Having the Nitrogen Oxide present in the combustion chamber can inhibit the production pollutants.

The EGR Valve can become clogged and blocked by residue from the car's emissions as they pass through or over the EGR valve entry. As this residue builds up, your car's engine performance can be reduced as the Nitrogen Oxide cannot pass through the EGR valve back into the engine's combustion chamber. This can be cleaned - thus restoring the performance of your car.

Over time your vehicle's EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system can become blocked, and clogged up with carbon deposits which may cause your vehicle to experience the following symptoms:

  •   A reduction in power.

  •   A misfire.

  •   Smoky exhaust.

  •   Reduced MPG, in diesel vehicles.

Cleaning an EGR system has traditionally involved the removal of the component, so that it can be cleaned by hand, or replaced.  Both these methods are labour intensive and expensive.  But not any more!

How Does It Work?

The new Terraclean EGR System Cleaning Tool enables us to clean and restore the EGR system, without the need to dsimantle the engine.  The tool works by applying a powerful Terraclean EGR and Induction System Cleaner into the circuit to dissolve and remove stubborn carbon deposits from the clogged system.

Features & Benefits of the Service:

  • Removes carbon deposits from the EGR system.

  • Restores performance.

  • Releases sticky EGR valves.

  • Improves fuel economy.

  • Restores air flow to the inlet manifolds.

  • Reduces vehicle emissions.

  • Reduces costly labour charges to remove the EGR.
